US Sailing Club Judge Seminar
Registration

This is a newly sanctioned US SAILING Club Judge Seminar required for initial certification as a US Sailing Club Judge. Some protest committee experience is helpful, but not required. The objectives of the club judge program are to improve the quality, consistency and fairness of protest hearings and results, at the club level.

Registration will begin at 1000  on Friday and the seminar will begin at 1200 and last until approximately 1900.  The test will follow at 0800 on Saturday morning.  Topics in the club judge program will include: deriving a set of facts from testimony, managing a hearing with proper procedures, applying applicable rules, and arriving at conclusions and a decision. The workshop will concentrate on three areas of development: Mock Hearings, Part 2 rules, Part 5 rules and Appendix M.

2:00-3:00-Successful One Design Sailors round table-Bryce Dryden and Eric Oetgen  tell you why and how they get out front, stay out front and win the trophies at big events while you are back there watching it all-

2:00-3:00-PHRF- A very focused group are working on bringing a PHRF champ/one design championship to SAYRA-

3:00-4:00-US Sailing Championships-scheduling, discussing SAYRA participation-

3:00-4:00-Race Management- ask all you want and have not heard from a seasoned group of PRO’s-they have answers for you-

3:00-4:00-BIMBOs-lessons from seasoned markboat operators-GPS

3:00- 4:30-Commodores/flag officers workshop-managing your club in the recession-
