SAYRA Club of the Month

On September 17, 1974 a group of sailors at Outrigger Harbor met with the intention of furthering sailing activities on Lake Norman.  They organized under the name Outrigger Harbor Sailing Association.  On December 1, 1990, the name was changed to Outrigger Yacht Club.
The Club (OYC) promotes seamanship, friendly competition and social activities for sailors on Lake Norman, NC.  Membership is affordable and open to anyone with an interest in sailing.  OYC’s sailboat racing schedule includes Lake Norman’s most popular racing event, the Wednesday Night Series, as well as lake-wide regattas and open events.
